I tried to search the archives, but I keep getting "not allowed" errors. So I hope this is the right place to post this question.

I'm getting a Case Copperlock with a "Tru-Sharp Surgical Steel" blade. Is this stuff any good? What normal steel type is it closest to?

Thanks.

Pretty sure it is 420 stainless, which is barely adequate for blade material. :barf: This steel is used only because it is cheap and easy to stamp out and grind.

Get the Chrome Vanadium blades if you are buying a Case knife to use. Those blades will take and hold a wicked edge. Get the stainless only if you are collecting and not using.
