Just wanted to get some input on what others think of these two brands. Quality? Value? workmanship?

Thanks!

In my experience Case is somewhat better than it was in the last decade or so but it is still very inconsistent. At a store recently I went through maybe a dozen peanuts until I found one with reasonably symetrical grind lines. Then when I got it home the steel was substandard.

I have no Bokers but I have several Cases. When you get a good one they are very good. But I highly recommend checking out several of the same model before buying, the same as I would recommend when buying a Benchmade.

Before I knew this, on two occasions I bought Case knives that I had to go back and exchange for another of the same model because on one the blades really rubbed into each other, and on a trapper I could not open the blades without breaking a nail. The replacements I got are fine and very solid.

I will say the Boker pocketknives are very attractive but IMO a bit expensive. Plus, I prefer rust-resistant steel, and a lot of the patterns they make that I like happen to be in carbon steel only.
