Looking at buying my first damascus steel knife. Not able to go all out at the moment for a custom made knife and I have read poor reviews of Bear and Son and the India and Pakistan made damascus (Marbles/Fox and Hound), I am looking primarily at Kershaw and Case.
Case offers several different slipjoint patterns in damascus and Kershaw has a few special offerings in damascus.
Has anyone tried these and can recommend one over the other on the quality of the blades?

If you are looking at a Case with something like Devin Thomas damascus, definitely that. Kershaw uses random pattern Alabama Damascus AFAIK.
