Hi guys,

Browing around today. I took a look at a knife that didn't think too much about, Case Wharnie Copperhead. Does anyone edc it? How do you like it? How is the f&f? Thanks

God Bless.

Great knife, beautiful blade grinds and shapes, very useful, nicely pocketable. The blades share a spring, so it's nice and thin overall. The F&F on mine is great, but that's very much an individual knife thing.

It is a smallish knife, but that's obvious given the closed length.

That's really cool Sam. Btw, I was picking between the this knife, Small Texas Jack CV and the Swayback Jack. I know the Small Texas is in a class of it's own. But In terms of use and edc, how do they stack up aganist one another. Which one would you pick? Thanks,

God Bless.

Easy! I own all three and pick whichever one suits my mood for a particular day.

The "Small" Texas Jack is a bigger, more rugged knife. The Sway Back is prettier and a lot more expensive. It appears it's a crapshoot whether you get swedged blades or not in that model, which I find appalling in a knife of that price. Heck, you can get a S&M for the money they want for the bone version.

To me the Mini Copperhead w/Wharncliff is the ultimate pen/gentleman's knife. Unobtrusive, nice looking, perfectly capable of cutting what you expect a 3" (closed) knife to cut. I wouldn't take it with me as my only knife for a weekend in the woods, but I wouldn't rely on any 3" knife for that.

I EDC this one.

I recently got a small Case wharncliff trapper in a trade. It is pretty cool and probably the sharpest knife I have. That wharncliff blade is super useful, I've discovered.

Awesome, I have a feeling that all three of them are going to wind up in my pocket at some point in time. Btw, does the mini Wharni Copperhead come with half stops or any other handle material besides the amber bone?

I really enjoy carrying my bluebone 62109W. I find the blade combo very useful. No half stops on mine. It came to me via a trade with sunnyd. Thanks again for the great knife my friend.

For comparison, this is an old Sheffield version made by J Turton & Co with smooth bone scales.

Just when I think I can settle down and spend more time with my knife family... s-k posts some more mouth-watering comparison pictures:D

That Wharncliffe Copperhead has been turning my head for some time now.Anybody know what scales are available or if other companies make something similar?

THEN I CAN STOP THIS RESTLESS SEEKING:thumbup:

For a bit at least:D

Hey there S-K,

Your quite welcome and it was my pleasure!. And I see that you've been using her which really warms me hart!

I very much love the the comparison photo of the vintage Sheffield produced, J. Turton & Company slippy which just goes to show how old the English influence is from our good brothers across the pond and that their is nothing much new under the sun these days.

Many Blessings to all,

Anthony

Amber Bone is the current stock. Shepherd Hill has a few more like smooth naturla bone and etc.

What an outstanding photo comparison!

Kind of a "then and now" thing. It seems like no matter what era, some things remain pretty much the same.

Love that Sheffield warnie!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Nice Mini Copperheads posted and Antiques All. I would like to ask a question do the mini copperheads have a catch bit in them? Could someone post a pix of the small blade end or the backsping? Thanks.
