Any owners of the Case Wharncliff Trapper care to comment on ow it feels in the hand when cutting? I know the overall f&f should HOPEFULLY be spot on, my swayback though, had pretty weak backsprings, but only when going from the backstop to open or the backstop to closed. Anybody know of a home remedy to fix it? Already tried gently prying the bolster and liner apart because of the unique rounded tang, I thought it might have been too tight of a rub on the tang. That wasn't it, or I'm too scared to pry any harder.

Run it under hot water, and squirt a little Dawn dishsoap in the joints. Then just work the blades open and closed. Dry it off real well and use your choice of lubricant.

The texas Jack I just got had the same problem, and doing this cleared it up.

Thanks, I'm running to try it now! I love the knife, but this has had me a little down in the dumps. I'm weird like that!

Hope you get it sorted, you can send it back but I know that's a drag.

My Swayback which is the Greenbone barehead ss version has very powerful spring, snap and half stop. It's very well made and an unusual knife to have in the 'herd'

Worked pretty good, I'm much happier than before! Now the patina I put on the blades the day before can really "shine," so to speak!

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I think the problem is that Case is just blowing out the loose polishing compound, but that still leaves a bunch in the pivots. Every now and then I'll have another chunk of it work out of the pivot. It's amazing how much crud can fit in there.
