CASE XX 2 DOT GREY SCROLL

Hello, i came across a two dot 1978 Stag grey/black Case xx knife. My question is the etching is very dark grey almost black l, the same you would find on a 1976 four dot folder. Shouldn't this be a red etch. The knife is in near mint except where the case XX USA at the bottom of the blade at the stamping, the case is mostly buffed or gouged away but the stainless and 2 dots are clear as day. I looked all over the internet and my books and was unable to find a knife like this with 2 dots and dark grey etch. Any help would be greatly appreciated
