Case XX 5232 How old is it?

I found this in my wife's basket of things from the past. She doesn't know whose it was because she's got dementia. I'm fairly certain it was her father's (or grandfather's if it's that old).

So, I'd like to know how old it is and I'd also love for you to give me an estimate if it's worth anything. I know the blades are pretty corroded. I can't find this run online yet so I'm coming to you for help.
