can anyone give me some info on this knive. it has a redbone handle that has a couple small chips out of it. the blade has been sharpened alot. what would be the estimated value of this knive?

You must post a picture to get reasonable responses. Otherwise you are asking "how much is an old Chevrolet worth, with a lotta miles on it?"! Good luck!

thats the only number on the blade. i dont know how to post pics but i can send them to an email address if you want to see the knive. you can contact me at brutus_41@yahoo.com

Maybe its a 6214? 3-3/8" closed redular jack with spear and pen blades, nickel silver bolsters at both ends.

Ok then its a 6143...5" closed one large clip blade, bolster at the blade end only, sawcut bone handles, the daddy barlow.

i got out the glasses and magnifying glass. it looks like there might be a 3 after the 4. i cant really make it out though. but other than that the knive is as you described it. if your interested i will send a couple pictures.

To answer your question, a 6143 Case XX is a Daddy Barlow pattern. It's a good knife, but the value (as always) depends on condition. A redbone CASE XX (1940-1964) in excellent condition is worth over $100 (maybe over $200). But you described it with chips missing from the handles. Not good. The value is greatly, greatly reduced. Photos?
