My first post in this section and of course it's asking for help

Anyway , I'll get to it . I have a Case XX 6265 SAB 6 dot knife with 2 blades . Can you good people tell me how old it is , what it might be worth and how rare it is if it is at all rare?

On one side of the large blade is marked case xx and below that is marked U.S.A and below that there are 6 dots .On the other side of the blade is marked 6265 SAB .

I appreciate any information anyone might have .

Depending upon the rest of the stamp, either a 1974 or 84 or 94. The rest of the stamp has changed for each decade. As far as rare, probably not, especially if it's the jigged wood version as that was the standard model of the folding hunter made in the largest amounts. As to the value, it's against the rules for non paying level members to ask or give quotes, sorry.

I knew I would find the answer here . Phil , I wasn't aware that asking the price was against the rules . The value was no my main concern anyway . bdev , thanks , that link showed exactly what year the knife is by the style of the lettering and markings . It is in fact a 1974 as you both mentioned . It's a nice old knife and although there are a few spots on the blades , it looks like they have not been sharpened hardly at all .

I've always liked the Case 65 hunters; I've got a similar one that was made in 1964 or 65, a XX frame with the larger front bolsters but with a different tang stamp. At one time I had planned on collecting them, but alas the money was never there to get more. :o
