I had a few gift cards to a certain retailer, I knew I wanted a knife, but nothing caught my eye except for this Case XX Changer in Rosewood. The knife includes: drop, clip, utility, saw blades, and a very nice leather sheath. This is a very nice high quality package. Pictures below.

The blades can be removed by swinging the blade down to a 90 degree angle, then press down firmly on the lock back, the blade will then slide out.

The fit and finish of this knife is very nice. The materials used, build quality, are all top notch. The pivot on the knife is massive, and is Steel, no doubt it can hold up to some abuse. I'd say the pivot makes up 4-5 of the pivots you see on the Buck 110, Case Mako/Hammerhead. The blades are made with Case's Tru Sharp Stainless Steel. The scales look to be Rosewood Staminawood (plastic impregnated wood).

There is some horizontal blade play, but I believe this has to be part of the design, rather than a flaw. If the blade had absolutely no wiggle/play, swapping blades would be a nightmare.

I have to say I'm very impressed with the XX Changer, it should stay by my side for a long time. The knife is slimmer than a 110, and feels more nimble in my hand, and IMO just as solid.

I have two, one rosewood and one sambar stag. The sambar one is from 1997 the rosewood from 2015. The rosewood knife had to be sent into Case as only two blades of four would fit. As you might expect, Case made it right by replacing the two blades that were a little too thick.

Great fit and finish on both examples. The rosewood knife is general purpose and the sambar knife is more "Sunday go to Meeting" or dress knife. They really are works of art and I am proud to show them
Off from time to time.
