Has it changed over the years, is it just a matter of sharpening over time, or has the blade been reprofiled?

Both are muskrat models but I really prefer the needle like point. These seems to be more common on the early 70's models vs today.

The blade on the older case is the original shape. The blade shape on the new case is a style that came out a few years ago.

It may also depend on the model. I notice that Case produces several blade shapes which they describe as being a "clip blade".

Wonder how hard it would be to reprofile a new one into the same blade shape? I know it would take away from the value of the knife and be losing some blade but seems like it would be more user friendly.

Reshaping the blade would be a matter of minutes to the desired profile. I have done this a few times in the past to better fit a knife to my needs. Obviously you will hurt the resale value but sometimes it is worth the improvement in functionality. Only you can decide.

that picture you posted is one of the simplest cleanest looking knives ive seen in a while
