This looks like very nice knife. The overall proportions seem better (slimmer) than previous Case Barlows…….

I just looked the Crossroads Barlow up on Case's website.
They currently show two available. Single Clip Point stainless blade, and a choice of two covers.
Nice, but a pass for me.
1) Outside my budget. (Golly G. Willy Kerz ... what a shock. 🙄)
2) I prefer at least two blades on my folding pocket knives, and carbon steel blades. (I like patina.)

While I do have ... several ... single blade pocket knives in my accumulation, aside from a Buck 110/ Old Timer 7OT (which to me are a belt knife - not a pocket knife) they don't see much pocket time.
Why would I want to spend triple digits left of the decimal point for a knife I would be unlikely to carry?

Ordered one yesterday from DLT Trading, will see what it is like. Up until now I have not liked the Case modern offerings, with their metal handles and other features. But this looks interesting. It helps that my preference in a Barlow is a single clip blade. I'm guessing that Case's traditional bone handled, pinned folders have been declining year by year and they need to do something. I like the idea of a thin, light barlow with a great quality blade steel so I am excited to give it a try.

Then I think you'll like this. When it came, the blade edge was kind of rough, but a few passes on the Sharpmaker cleaned it up. The first thing I noticed, when I took it out of the box, was it"s light weight. Nice knife. You hardly know it's in your pocket.

If they would make this XX Barlow in a lambsfoot, sheepfoot or Wharncliffe, I would HAVE TO own one. A green or blue Richlite would be the bomb!

I guess Case is testing the waters. After the Crossroads Sodbusters took off, they came out with more handle options. And since this is a Barlow, Case isn't limited to one style of blade, like with the sodbuster. So more handle & blade variations may be coming. Just so they keep the S35VN.

The steel is a big reason for my interest. I've never had any S35VN and would like to compare it to the M390 and CPM-154 that I do have.

I have several CRK & Hinderer knives in S35VN, and have always liked it. It holds an edge almost as long as M390, but isn't nearly as hard to sharpen. I think it has a nice balance of edge holding vs toughness. For my uses, I like it much better than M390 or CPM-154. I've only had this Case about a week, but so far I have no complaints at all.

After just under two months carrying the Crossroads Barlow I have no complaints. It is light, handles nice and still looks somewhat "traditional." Nothing at all wrong with it, but will probably be my only "modern non-pinned" case. I just prefer the pinned knives that have been treated to more hand assembling, and hafted for that incredible smooth feel of everything fitting flush.
