This tang-stamp dates from 1940 to 1965, according to the CASE website.
But...I have not found anything about this pattern.

Are any of you folks familiar with it?

The name, what the sheath may have looked like, production quantity, dates of manufacture...or any other significant or interesting information about this lovely blade will be gratefully received, and promptly acknowledged.

It is near-mint, with factory edge and un-molested, very sharp tip.
Blade is 6 by ⅞ inches, overall is 10¼ inches; it weighs ~118 grams.
I don't know enough about wood to say what kind it might be.

If it was made post-war, and got into the 21st century without a sheath, somebody sure took good care of it for it to be in such pristine condition.

I am, of course, thrilled to have recently acquired it.

Thanks for looking, and for whatever help or comments you can offer. wlw

It is a Case XX M7449 pig sticker.
Hope that helps you dig up more about it.
