Can anyone tell me when Case xx manufactured FINN fixed blade knives with the shorter 3 1/2" handle versus the later 4 1/4" handle. I've owned a "handsome" 5 Finn for nearly 30 years, that has the shorter handle, and have always wondered during what time period it was crafted by Case XX. Thank You.

If you post a picture of the tang stamp we can tell you the exact year it was made using the Case tang stamp chart. I wold post a picture for you but my iPad is having a bad night:)

Ernie, I can tell you that it is a typical '70s tang stamp, and therefore, being a fixed blade, without dots. I'd gladly share a photo, however, I'm not familiar with such technology. I've been collecting for over thirty years and am puzzled by the shorter stag handle.
I appreciate your response. Thank You. Bob Witt

I don't think I've seen a stag handled Finn. I'm really fond of this pattern myself. Got a pic?--KV
