Do any of you guys know what a Case XX Item 00789 is?

I called the hardware store because I couldn't get over there today to get a picture and that's what the guy said it was. He wouldn't open the case to find the box because they were super busy but I know that my green stockman said "Item No 00809" on the box.

Any clues to what a 789 is? It looks like a small stockman but with 4 blades says "Case XX" on the side, and has SS blades, and is sort of a burgundy color.

Thanks!

David I couldn't help with a item number. Do you have any way of finding out the pattern number? If so we could help you.

I'll have to just drive up there tomorrow and get them to open up the case. I'm off tomorrow so I'll have a fun trip. :)

He is reading the item number on the box which is not the WR Case knife pattern model #. If you get the opportunity to chat with him again, ask him to take the knife out of the box and open up the blades and ask him again.

Thanks for all your assistance thus far David.

Ok guys,

I called back and here is the info.

The guy got out the box and said "here is what it says"

Any ideas?

Thanks!!! :)

Seems like it might be a small congress then? Sound right?

Should be a 4 blade congress pattern with stainless blades. Not sure about the "M".

I think the "SSM" may indicate abalone scales but it's a guess from other knives I've seen online.

That, and it (probably) has bone handles. :D I have no idea what the "M" stands for, either. Searching for "64052SSM" brought up the Case "Rare Finds" page. Which may mean that you have something.

The listing in the "rare finds" page says that "64052SSM"=:

Yes,

The 052 is the Congress pattern.
