I took this thing off the market.I'm figuring for the money I'de get wasn't worth the feeling of dropping into my pants pocket.Took some great pics so I figured I would share.
Look at the liners in the backspring shot. Do you guys find it to be that alot of Cases are off like this? It's almost like they toleranced it like that.Ive notice this on just the olser ones I've had.

Thats a beauty. :) The perfect size and pattern for me. I still haven't found one in CV and jigged bone though.:grumpy:

I gave it the mineral oil treatment and it's like it the scales came alive.
Should I make it a user or just a Sunday go to meeting knife? Holy smokes, It just dawned on me looking at the Case stamps,it's at least 44 years old.

Nvihawk, in my experience, if you find an older case where the backsprings are flush with the liners with the blades open AND closed, you got a gem.

I have one or two, but that's it.

I don't find them with spaces that often. These older ones were fitted pretty good.

i have a 1978 Case 6292 (similar pattern, but only 30 years old) and liners are flush with springs, open & closed. so does this "problem" occur more in Case knives older than this ? roland

It's not uncommon on earlier Case Knives. I have several in all patterns with the liners not fitting flush with the back springs.

I don't really see it as a flaw.A small amount of blade wobble doesn't bother me either.I stay away from knives that you can see the pivot pin. That bothers me. The two Mooremakers I bought and the Camco Albany felt knife I bought recently are very tight. I was impressed.

Well now that I look at it, it has space between the spring and liner ? I don't see that too much. But the springs not being flush when blades are open AND closed is.

Yeah, this was my beef with the "dot" Case knives I used to get in the late 70s and 80s. I guess it's my pet peeve, but I can't stand when a knife's blade isn't flush with the backspring when open. And I never got a Case back then where they WERE flush. Maybe I've just been lucky of late, but I haven't had that problem with Cases made in the past few years.

On this one the blades are just about dead on flush with the springs when open and the springs line up with the liners open and closed. The little gap you see between the liners closes with a little squeeze with my fingers.I almost think it gives it more snap.
