Does anybody carry a Case knife these days? If you carry a Case sound off and if you have a picture of your favorite please post it.

I used to carry a Case Amber Bone Trapper with Tru sharp surgical blades, and an old yellow handle handle medium stockman with chrome vanadium blades. Both are good knives, but my stockman got stolen from my locker at work, and my trapper was nice, but it is a little big to me for pocket carry. Recommend the chrome vanadium blades because they hold a razor sharp edge alot longer than the surgical steel. Chrome vanadium are the same as carbon steel. They will turn dark, which is normal, and they will rust if not taken care of, but when they got dull all I had to do was strop them. In the 2 years I had it, I only had to sharpen it twice. The surgical blades I was having to sharpen about once a month.

I carry a Medium Stockman or a Sodbuster Jr in CV an yellow from now and then. Both have patinas, and are very good knives. If you want to learn a lot about Case products, go over to the Traditional subforum.

I've been looking into some traditional knives recently but sadly i don't have a Case (yet). Check out the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades forum here, you'll get tons of responses and loads of pictures.

I just started to carry a Case Clip Point Hunter (fixed blade) with orange G-10 scales that arrived today. Pretty modern-looking, with excellant ergonomics. Here is a short review I posted in a user-group:

"The Case came a few minutes ago, and although I haven't yet used it for anything other than push cutting paper (which it does with the utmost ease), and shaving arm hair (which it also does with the utmost ease), I am extremely impressed with the fit and finish, especially considering it is only a $70 knife. I love everything about the handle. Its just about the perfect size for my hands (I, being 6'6" and about 200 pounds, have rather large hands). I suppose the scales could stand to be a bit thicker, but its not complaint-worthy. It feels perfect (not an exaggeration) in most grips; hammer-grip, saber-grip, half-grip, and reverse grip. However, pikal-grip isn't that comfortable, and a choked up hold isn't possible due to the fact that there is no finger choil (just the way I like it:)). The orange G-10 looks great and is really grippy, even when wet. Enough of the pommel sticks out the bottom (or top, depending on the grip) of my hand to hammer with if need be. The blade is mirror-polished, hollow-ground (would prefer a flat grind, but not a big deal), and has a fine needle point for detail-work. The entire knife is beautiful (IMO), and looks much better in person than it does in pictures. Now onto the sheath: This is the best sheath I have ever gotten with a production knife, bar none. It looks great, but that's only part of the reason I love it. The knife clicks (not audibly) into the leather pouch sheath, and doesn't come loose under heavy shaking. Once its there, its there until you want it out. Then, it comes out with little effort. Case definetaly got the retention right on this one. The whole package rides comfortably on my belt with some of my other EDC stuff (Surefire G2, Leatherman Core, and cell phone). My friends call it the bat-belt.:o

This one is definetaly a keeper: 10 outta 10! In short: get one... or we'll find you.:D"

I don't carry a Case knife but have bought several within the past year. The quality of each has been satisfactory; most were very good.

If I were to buy a Case for carry, I'd probably select the CV stockman in amber bone. I really like the rounded bolsters on that version, and the build quality was excellent.

G-10 is virtually indestructible! I have read many reviews of people who say that this could be the new material to last for many more generations than anything else in knives. G-10 is made from Fiberglass and different kind of resins.

i Carry a yeller CV soddie and a Yeller Med Stockman, have been for a couple months.
Excellent knives sharp as i need and i love the way they look, big fan of the yeller CV. Also on and off carry a mini stockman thats stainless but is also an excellent little knife just a tad small
Big fan of slipjoints in general:thumbup:
cheers

p.s. been eyeing the seahorse for well over a year so i may not be able to avoid adding another case to my menagerie of sharp and pointy:D

I carry a CV yellow handled Trapper and a Benchmade just about every day. They both have their strengths.

Here are a few of my EDC knives, the bottom one is a Case trapper that I carry in a belt sheath,it's a 1980s vintage, the one above it is a 63087 stockman, that's one of my favorites, also 1980s vintage.

I am carrying a Case/Tony Bose muscrat as I type this. The Case/Bose collabs are among the more expensive Case knives, but they are some of the finest slipjoints you can find.

Case Yellow Sodbuster Jr. in CV here. Great EDC pocket knife! I honestly believe, you can't go wrong with a Sodie CV.

I recently carried Case on and off for a couple months, but pocket real estate is limited and I have to carry my SAK, so I havn't put one in my pocket in a while. Great knives though.

I'd say by and large this is my favorite Case so far...

I have a few "late-model" Case knives (meaning made in the last 5 years or so) and love them all. Here's my Sodbuster Jr. Their CV steel takes a wickedly sharp edge.

I carried a small Case trapper, SS blades, amber bone for a while, but I decided to see if I could get away from carrying two knives - small Trapper + Buck 110 for larger work; so I just recently bought a Case large Stockman, CV blades, 6.5 bonestag. It instantly became my favorite, and I use it several times a day. I'm still going back to the 110 occasionally, but that Stockman gets a lot of use.

Nothing wrong with the 110, just with the heat around here, I'm moving away from a belt for now.

thx - cpr

Once we're through unpacking, I'll post pics.

I carry either a small Texas Jack in Cv or one of my Stag Peanuts every day during the week. Steven
