Case's Damascus?

Is Case's Damascus carbon steel, a combination of carbon steel and stainless steel, or stainless steel? .

I'm guessing Case's Damascus needs a light coat of oil to prevent rust and/or patina?

I'm also going to guess a patina on a Damascus blade would not look so good.

The one damascus Case knife I had was a toothpick, and it seemed to be patinaed... It didn't look bad, it just made it difficult to see the pattern in the steel.

I don't know if this helps, but I have this Case half-whittler in Mediterranean blue jigged bone. The blade is carbon Damascus from Devin Thomas.
