Case's Sportsman 5" fixed blade XX Tested

My local gun shop got in a pasteboard box of knives (mostly collectable .mil knives) and I found this Case's Sportsman in the bunch.....The owner had no interest in it so he sold it to me for $25.00.

One side reads CASE"S Tested XX....The other side reads CASE Bradford, PA.

I looked around and could not find another like it but one in the same sheath but with an replaced handle. They claimed that it was from the 1930s.....Any idea?

It's been sharpened but not to where it hurts the utility so thought I might get a more modern sheath for it (reserving the old one) and give it to my G-Grandson in a couple years.

I found this 5" Case sheath.....Described as blemished.....Looks like it would work OK.

I'll wrap the knife in plastic wrap, soak the sheath in alcohol, and form fit it around the knife.....When it dries I'll use a leather preservative on it.

I went back to the well again today and snagged four more knives.

Top to Bottom:

1950s era Olson Bird & Trout knife....I think.

1920s era Olcut/Union Cutlery hunting knife.....That one is also getting a new sheath.

1981 Case XX stag folder.

WW-II Western Baby Shark

I gave $130.00 for all of them (and a Western Bowie knife sheath).

Oh, that olsen... Love it. My dad had an Olsen skinner, I skinned every deer that came through the garage with that guy. Loved that old olsen. Lucky man!
