You gotta love eBay, guys. Here I am, surfing all the yummy Randalls for sale from my home in Canada tonight. I stop to look at a needed 17 inch zippered case for my son's #18 when up pops the following message;

Dear User:

Unfortunately, access to this particular category or item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in your home country. Based on our discussions with concerned government agencies and eBay community members, we have taken these steps to reduce the chance of inappropriate items being displayed. Regrettably, in some cases this policy may prevent users from accessing items that do not violate the law. At this time, we are working on less restrictive alternatives. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you, and we hope you may find other items of interest on eBay.

Thank You.

. . . i don't know but I guess it must be something they're putting in those soft black padded cases.

I have sent the padded zipper cases to Canada several times w/o a problem that I'm aware of. I usually have all 4 sizes of the padded cases in my shop most all of the time. Contact me if you need some.
Thanks Greg

Thanks, but you're misreading my point, Rhett - eBay will let me (and other Canadians) buy all the knives we want there. For some stupid reason, they just don't want us bidding on the soft zippered cases!javascript:smilie(':)')

also I find this problem with the zipper case, the question is : is more dangerous one zipper case or one knife ?:D :D :D

As you've already found out...they are very, very dangerous!

That said, proper precautions taken, they can be quite useful!

When I say proper precautions, I mean clean and dry your RMK's, coat them with a preservant like Ren. wax or similar, and store them in the soft cases in a dry environment...doing this will ensure your knives stay 'fresh' for years to come!

Anyhoo, I could probably spare one (1) softcase each for you guys free of charge. If you need more than one, they'll run you about $12 each to cover shipping...(shipping to Italy is kinda pricey eh Fadax?) ;)

As Rhett said above, there are many venues for obtaining these cases, including KAN, but there is only one source...

Hope that helps,

Mel

On behalf of all Canadians everywhere, thank you for the generous offer, Mel. Our Model 18 and I would love a 17-inch freebie! Now, how do I go about getting it here? Incidentally, is Edna still a Canuck?

mapleleaf, I somehow get the feeling that we might have once met...lol

And yes, my loving bride is still a Canuck 'through & through', but you wouldn't know it from her driving...she's become rather 'Californized' when it comes to driving, or so it would seem...

As to the softcase, well as the old saying goes, 'There ain't no such thang as a free lunch'...so, I'll tell ya what cha do; place a nice refridgerator magnet in a padded envelope or box, address it to the address that I'm gonna email you, put your address inside, and once the parcel gets here...I'll mail you a 'gift box' with a large sofcase inside...

(Hope fadax doen't want a large one too, I'm down to one after yours goes out...lol)

It's (almost) in the mail!

Direct to you, Mel, from the Haida Gwaii - the Queen Charlotte Islands aka Canada's Galapagos - comes a unique inlaid, hand-painted, exotic wood refrigerator magnet rendition of the Orca, or killer Whale. A hundred and thirty islands at the edge of the world. Rainforests draped with green moss and cedar. Humpbacks rising from the ocean. The remains of beautiful totems and houses in remote Haida villages scattered throughout the islands. This is the Queen Charlotte Islands, or Haida Gwaii.

Actually, my wife picked it up today in Cow Bay, Prince Rupert's version of San Diego's Old Town.

I think, once you see it, you'll agree it's a beauty, tho, eh?

Thanks Chris! The magnet arrived recently, and is better than advertised...it's not painted bud, that's all wood inlay...very pretty, and very cool! (Thank you!)

Your new RMK 'softcase' was shipped out yesterday, and you should be receiving it soon!

Wow, we're stoked, thanks again buddy!

Say, is there any chance you and your wife would want to time share? You'd get our place in San Diego for a week, and we'd come hang out up there...BC, beautiful!

Mel
