I was thinking about buying the new Heckler & Koch axis folder. (model HK34fdp) Started reading the specs on the knife and it says its made with cast aluminum handles. Cast handles gives me a cheap feeling about this knife, but the price says different. (over $200$) Is it just me or did they find a way to make cast stronger?
Thanks in Advance.

"Cast" can either mean you'll end up with roughly finished casting (as in $5 M-Tech) or that they simply figured out they really don't have to machine the handle from a solid block because it's both faster and more cost effective to die cast it before machining - *if* it is quality made you won't be able to spoit a difference between casting that was machined and one machined from a solid block.

At $200 however i'd be looking at some higher-class knife, not a gun-making company brand that has little or nothing to do with quality of the firearms they produce (think about S&W for example).

The knife in question is an Axis lock Benchmade made for HK, so I wouldn't worry about that aspect.
