This is a stretch being in W&S but seeing as how I hang out here most often, I knew most of you would get a kick out of this as I did. I have three Daughters:eek: Yes three. 6-4-2 years old. My 6 yo, and 4 yo were out in the back practice casting with their new Barbie Zebco fishing rods.

Tie a weighted plug with no hooks on and let them rip. I/we were having a great time untangling the plugs from the pine trees:rolleyes: and my 6 yo goes "Daddy...... look at this!!!"

She had found a very large black beetle and was letting it crawl up and down her arm. She shows a fascination with animals and bugs that just flat out impresses me most of the time. Well I had the forethought to bring her in to get a picture and thought I would share.

How will she deal with the nickname 'buggsy' ??.....Bugs can be fascinating. If there is a bug expert here - there is a small bug ,about 1/16" long that camouflages himself by covering himself with dirt .Looks like a little ball of dust but it moves ! What is it ??

I have no idea..... but my Daughter would pick it up and give it a name like "Ariel" :D

Man, your little one is braver than I am.

If those are the same beetles we have here in Jersey, the have huge, sharp mandables and hiss when you pick'em up.

I always pick them up by pinching them from behind, I never tried letting them walk on me.

My 5yo. has no fear, she picked up a hornet a few weeks ago, freakin thing was as big as my pinkie finger. How she got off without getting stung is beyond me.
