I've got a bottle of bluing liquid (I like black pocket clips) and a dream of a purple endura with black blade and hardware. The finish would be fine on the screws, but I doubt it'd last on the blade. Just wanted some wisdom if anybody had a sec.
Many thanks, have a good one.

I have tried to blue stainless, and it generally just ends up really ugly and old looking. You may get better results with hot bluing, but cold bluing doesn't do crap to stainless.

I cold blue'd a stainless blade last night and took to work to study it in better light today. I like the aged patina of acid etched stainless but realized the dark splotches from cold blue looked ugly, nasty. Luckily it doesn't take to stainless and when I got home the first thing I did was sand it off.

Cold blue works great for carbon steels, but not Stainless.Acid etching works pretty well, but with more of a dark grey finish.
