Got this from Joe yesterday and couldn't be happier.....a smokin' deal on a FINE custom folder.

Comes in a real nice zipper case...

Great etch on the Damasteel and logos of Joe's and Paul Bos. I added a small choil to the blade....just a personal preference.

Locks like a vault and, yes, the blade is EXACTLY centered.

Thanks for the photos.
I love it.
A "must have" knife.

Wow,
Just found this thread.
Thanks for the kind words!

Dawkind: Nice photos! I really like the choil/blade nick. Nice job!
A point of trivia about your knife: The markings on the blade are not etched, but rather micro machined by laser (not a typical laser 'dark-mark').
If you look under magnification, you'll notice just how crisp and deep the marks are (about .007 or .008). It's an expensive mark to do and I had a heck of a time finding someone that could do it this well. I tried several outfits that litterally couldn't do it. I figured it was important to have this extra-deep, crisp mark since visibility over damascus can be a challenge (I usually stamp, but that wouldn't work here).
Also, the owner of the laser outfit that did the marking was the first person to see one of these knives complete and the first to buy one--picking up a mammoth-clad version on the spot. It was very encouraging.

Oupa: We're all set! The books are updated and orange G-10 is heading your way tomorrow! Thanks!:)

I have a damascus Caswell folder I got on from Joe on Ebay about 6 years ago. The action is very smooth and, well, I just love damascus anyway. :)
Here is part of the write up on it:
> The knife's chassis was
> designed by veteran custom knife maker, Darrel Ralph. The blade was
> forged, ground and the knife fitted and finished by Cal Knives
member, Joe Caswell.
> The blade was ground from a 100-layer bar of twisted Damascus steel.
