After Christmas , and when I can find one, I plan on ordering a G10/satin Manix 2.

When I do I am thinking of adding a small knife to my meager Spyderco carry collection. Only problem is there are quite a few to choose from. I really like black G10 , but can live with black FRN.

Any small Spydercos really stand out from the others?

Ohhhh, and by small I mean smaller than a Native 5, already have one.

Of the two I'd go with the Chicago to get something appreciably smaller than the Native 5. The Squeak has the same sized blade in case you want a slip joint.
Another very popular choice is the Dragonfly. I've got one with the ZDP-189 blade and love it.

I have the Cat, but rarely carry it over the Dragonfly. It depends on your choice of steel, locking, etc. If you want a small knife and don't yet have a Dragonfly, I'd start there! Other options: the Urban (discontinued but around, a slippie) or the Persistence. The Byrd line also has some options.

My smallest Spyderco is a Techno. It may be small in grip-length, but it's a work-horse.
I hear so much about the Dragonfly, that I'm sure it's a great knife...and the ZDP grants a long-lasting edge.

I have the Chicago: I bought it 2nd hand quite cheap and so happy to use it when I wouldn't want to use another, and I use it a lot. It's good enough, but if I didn't have it, I'd get a Dragonfly.

The Drangonfly does look like the size range I am interested in. Pretty sure I could live with the green to get the ZDP189.

I have fallen out of love with all things ti, but the CF Chapparral does look pretty nice.

The Dragonfly G10 has been my most carried knife since I bought it. I often carry it with a second, larger knife (and sometimes with a third--a small slipjoint). But, in truth, I probably could do everything I need to do with just the Dragonfly. It's a little on the expensive side...that's its only negative.

Just to warn you, the Dragonfly is addictive. I own five variations of the knife right now.

I have a Manbug G10, a few Dragonflies (G10 and FRN), and a Cat. I do not have a Chicago but may get one. Of the three I carry the Dragonfly G10 the most. I love that foliage green and it is slim and easy to carry. My wife prefers the FRN version. My next most carried knife is the Cat. This is a very nice knife and not hard to sharpen. I prefer a lock back to a liner lock, but otherwise, I really like this knife and actually prefer it to my Chaparral, slightly. It fills my hand better than the Chap and gives me a nice 2.5" blade.

I've got a bunch of smaller knives- Caly 3.5, Caly 3, Chaparral, UKPKs, Spy-DK, Pingo, Draonfly. They're fun for lighter use and don't take up much pocket space. You really can't go wrong with any of them. I bought a Cat without jimping. When I finally found one with jimping I jumped on it and am glad I did.

I know the D Fly gets alot of love but I never found it.. Tried twice.. VG-10, ZDP.. The CAT fills my hand better and still is a small carry.. The other knives suggested are worth looking into also.. John :)

Vote for the Chicago here. I have the regular version G10 440C and a factory second cf s30v version and carry them both frequently. However all of the knives mentioned are all fantastic choices, and I wish the Chicago was offered in some of the other steel options the others are. Would love a ZDP Chicago.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have decided to add a ZDP-189 Dragonfly to my next order. Thanks again.

Sage fans looking for a smaller folder should check out the CF Chaparral.

Hard to beat for size and weight, you'll marvel at the f&f. My favorite in the Chap line.

It's a little jewel, and a perfect gentleman's (or gentlelady's) folder.
