Hello,

I have received this morning a Catbyrd.
This knife is just fab !
Not talking about the bargain but only by the design.

It's gorgeous, smooth, sharp and dead serious in being a Workhorse.
The lock is VERY strong and passed all my test with flying colors.
I thought it was a little hard to close the knife but now that I'm getting used to the lock, it's easy peezy lemon squizzy !:D

The Catbyrd is not as big as I would thought it was going to be and it's definitively an EDC.
There is a slight recurve on the high flat ground blade making it a hell of a cutter.

There is just one thing I would love to see improved:
The clip.
It would prefer it more flat close to the handle. But it's really a detail.
Overall I'm really really really impressed by the design and the details thought for the ergonomy. The choil is really a plus for controlling the cuts.
I understand how Jur was also so impressed by the protos.
:D
Grrrrrreeeeat folder !

cheers

What are the inserts made of? It looks like grip tape like on skate boards and I wonder how long that will hold up. Other than that it looks fantastic.

Kershaw use similar rubber-like stuff, it holds well for sure. (I ordered a Kershaw Storm II, I'm curious which one will be better for EDC. :D)

The Kershaw Storm II is also a great knife :D

On the Catbyrd, the Yin Yang rubber is perfectly place for the thumb to catch it to retrieve the knife from a pocket.
It's a very confortable knife to carry !

Great to hear! I may be picking one of these babies up.

I was so impressed by the Catbyrd that I picked up two of them. The blade came as sharp as any knife that I have ever had and the design is top notch.

Yep this is the kind of knife you can use hard without to mind.
A real solid beater and a reliable workhorse !

And so far the blade's edge in my 2 Byrd is very strong and hard to chip...
Easy to touch up too.

Cheers
