More info on the Grifter has just been added to my website. I hope to change the scan to some photos SOON!

Looks really nice! love to see a dark blue black micrats or G10 handle on it, but then again, I like almost anything with a blue handle!

That's a purty one! I've been gravitating towards fixed blades in that size range recently, and the handle on that looks super nice (in both aesthetics and grip comfort). Double edges are dangerous though; you better send it to me before you cut yourself.

Very nice work Doctor. Those grinds are, as always, sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

But allow me to offer a suggestion - give this one a double guard. I feel much more comfortable having some sort of guard on any side that has a cutting edge. Any time you're doing point work, push cutting, or thrusting, you run the risk of cutting yourself on the top edge. I think an unobtrusive, forward canted guard would really improve this already great design.

Very very sweet knife Neil, but I really expect no less from you.

Good luck to whoever gets this knife, you're gonna have lots of people wanting it ;-)

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Hey Neil:

Great looking new blade you have there.

Still enjoying the small tactical/utility you made for me.

Wishing you continued success.

Thanks for the compliments, it's very much appreciated!
Wulf,
With the sharp top edge, I did think about hand safety. My thoughts about this were formed after using my Medium Hunter and Tactical model with G10 handles (non skeletonized). Even being wet and covered with fish SLIME, I NEVER had my hand slip up over the handle. Many times I stabbed it into my fish cleaning table and fence post FULL FORCE. The integral guard, handle contour and thumb serrations provided enough grip to keep the knife in my hand. The Grifter has a larger overall handle, a second finger notch and also, thumb serrations on the spine. Because the tip isn't as thick as the Medium Tacticals, I'm going to skip the full power thrusts into wood with it! Maybe this is sacrificing form for function somewhat but one with a top guard would be another model! And I have NO problem with that!! I just spoke to another forumite on the phone and the idea of a skeletonized version was brought up. Adding a ramped serrated guard could be done, ANYTHING is possible.....I've always wanted to make a copy of the Fer de Lance in GOOD material

Neil: As much as I like the blade style, that handle looks like it is the perfection of functional design!
