Cattaragus I need info please

Hi there I had someone ask me about Cattaragus. They had a company in New York and thats all I know. Did they go out of buisness? Were they bought out? Any info is appriciated. Thanks

Cattaraugus was located in Little Valley, N.Y. They went out of business in 1963. Check Levines Guide IV for more information.

The A. G. Russell Knives, Inc now owns the trademark and has for about 20 years. No copies of the older knives are made today. A. G.
 
I own one of those really old knifes, they are build tough leather stacked handles steel Pommel
 
That's something I've been meaning to ask. Ever since I seen some Cattaragus knives at SMKW, I have been facinated by them. I was especially taken by a camp knife with a compass made into the handle. The quality looks to be excellant, although I have never handled one. They went out of buisness the year I was born. Mr. Russell is there any chance any of ther old patterns will be made again? RKBA!
