This one's on the cover of the latest A.G. Russell catalogue. It's a reverse congress pattern with one Spey and one Sheepsfoot blade. You can also see it on the A.G. Russell website: http://www.agrussell.com/knives/new...b_35th_anniversary_knife_collector_grade.html

This one caught my eye, since I've been looking something along these lines. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this knife and, if so, what your thoughts on it were.

Thanks.

Dave

Dave,

What a fine looking design! I must say I am immediately taken to it, however, I would liked to have seen another choice of the main/master blade rather than the sheepsfoot but, just my humble opinion. On the other hand I do applaud the use of the spey blade. The spey blade is a very useful blade. I cut my teeth on this fine blade as a lad in the winter months in Virgina and North Carolina while on many small game hunts for rabbit and squirrel. Now I must admit the steel is a big question mark for me..

I have not heard of 14-4CrMO Stainless Tool Steel. Does anyone here have a using knife with 14-4CrMO who can attest to its performance over some length of time? I have an opinion(as usual) about this too, however, it is likely best left unsaid until perhaps some folks here may change my opinion by answering the question at the start of this paragraph.. Whatever the case, I really do like this pattern design allot and would love to see some made with some decent carbon steel and some form of nicely jigged bone for the common man at prices below $100.00 dollars..

Thank You Dave for this cool thread..

Best,
Anthony

I was drawn to these as well. Man, the price is way up there, especially for the one with the gold bolsters. They do have a fine look about them, though.

That is an interesting combination of blades. I've looked at it a few times and haven't made-up my mind yet. It does have a certain appeal.
