I admit that I look more than share on the forums, and even take months off at a time. That being said, I have been looking at the knives on line and in my own accumulation lately, and have come to believe that Cattaraugus had some of the best cut and jigged bone of any knife manufacturer, although the Schrade Peech Seed is up there. What do you guys think? Who had the best bone of the Old School manufacturers?

Back a few years ago @Primble used to show Cattaraugus and IMHO they were the best ,
But none of mine hold a candle to what he showed

but I think this old Taylors Eye Witness is pretty good .

Then I got this Robeson and I like it too

Then Case came out with a Series of 8 knives in Walnut Rogers Jigged bone that was OK

And Camillus , Pal , Imperial , and Voos even had some nice stuff

Then there is now some Culpepper Bone

And the old Northfield Knife Co. did okay too

But I still think that some of the Old Cattaraugus that @Primble showed were the best . Maybe Augie Augie has a very nice old Catt

Yes all good stuff there and the Robeson pocketeze knives are a great story too with the red painted shields and unique patterns that wouldn’t tear up your pockets

Most of the old time makers had really nice bone. Case, Camillus, Schrade, Robeson, Schatt. I personally really liked the bone on the Remington bullet knives. But I agree that Cattaraugus had extremely nice, and very consistently amazing bone. It also has proven to hold up very well over time.

Thats a tough one as pre WW2 and pre 1929 almost all the bone was exceptional from all the major cutlery companies, Catt, Miller Bros, Challenge, Schrade Cut, Camillus and many more. The bone is one of the things that make collecting the vintage knives so interesting.

Damn, that is a nice set.

I read that Cattaraugus "Indian Trails" jigged bone was furnished by Rogers Bone Company. Was it jigged by RBC or by Cattaraugus? Similarly, some of the other Rogers bone, including 'Classic Rogers Bone,' as used by Camillus, for one, is distinctive and here again, I don't know who jigged it, Rogers or Camillus?

The Old Original Northfields did pretty well with their Jigging of Bone as well .
