When I was in an apartment closer to the foothills, we had a Praying Mantis that would hang out in one of the trees I kept on the balcony. It was out there so often that we nicknamed it Charlie.

That sucker would fly directly at my face with a loud whirring sound, usually when I was having my first cup of coffee, and startle the heck out of me.

The glasses I'm currently wearing have chips in the lower lenses from being flung off, trying to figure out what the heck was flying at my face.
