I just got a couple pieces of PVC pipe at Home Depot and the clerk asked if I wanted some tape. I said sure and she gave me a roll. But when I whipped out my Cold Steel Trail Guide and whacked off the tape, she jumped like I was attacking with the sword of Conan.

Was funny.

:D

Citizen,

Whilst it was an effective use of your "tool" I suggest that in future you refrain from exhibiting a blade over 1/2" overall length in front of, the folk you quite cheekily call "sheeple" for fear of causing panic:rolleyes:

Be safe citizens

I've been temped to whip-out my Cold Steel Vaquero Grande a couple times to cut-up my steak with at a "fancy" resturant, but so far the worst I've done was to use my REKAT Sifu once for the same thing...That was bad-enough, but the Vaquero Grande would just be too far "over the top", and would cause most of the sheeple to run-away and/or call the police.

One of the things I like about Home Depot is that they have tools right there for you to use. I can design something, figure out how long each piece needs to be, walk into Home Depot, cut all my parts to length on their tools, and walk out with essentially a kit for the cost of raw materials. I often do half the project in the isles at Home Depot.

At a Mexican resturant w/ buffet run by Mexicans I went to, there were cantelope and mango slices on the buffet. However, they still had the skin on them. I Pulled out my Spyderco Police PE and removed the nonedible parts. The staff didn't bat an eye!

Funny - a couple years ago I bought a Benchmade mini-Nimravus at a gun show, and stuck it on my belt right away, and after I left went right over to a Home Depot to get some other stuff I needed.
Walked into the "Tool" area and there was a guy at the counter trying to use a box cutter to split heavy rubber gas line. I aske dhim if he would like a little stronger knife, and he said "sure" - well first I gave him my Emerson Commander ( I even, carefully, waved it) but as I had been using it, it was somewhat dull, so I handed himt he brand new Nimravus. No one had seen it before I pulled it, as my t-shirt was draped over it.
No one said a word negative about either - the cashier at the counter did have a positive thing to say though, "What a kind your man - I dont know many people who would loan their tools out to strangers like that."

She got it right, not "ohh, eeek, weapons" - she said TOOLS!
Really made my day - restored my faith in humanity a littl ebit for the day.

Guess home depot employee's arent the same everywhere. Too bad.

I kinda freaked out one of my employees two days ago when I was opening some mail with my CUDA Maxx 5.5! She asked if it was a little bit of overkill.... I said "nah, this is a large envelope". Besides, they all think I'm nuts anyway.

they all think I'm nuts anyway

I know what you mean. Nobody at the office bats an eye when I yank out whatever knife I happen to have on me that day. I don't know if it's because they've come to respect knives and the people that carry them, or whether they're just humoring me because they think I'm a potentially dangerous whacko. Probably the latter, but who cares?
