A friend of mine, found a sword in his grandfathers house and he likes to know more about it, but I don't know nothing about swords, so here I am.

I registered yesterday to the swordsforum but it seems that I have to wait to get permission to post something on the forum. So I am waiting... hopefully someone there can identify this sword.
I found the marking SH1 or SHI on the blade, but I cant find any good information about markings on the internet.
Anyone any idea?
