Here is a new one by GenO Denning @CavemanEngineering! He sent me this picture a couple of days ago and I wanted to give you all a peek at what's been bouncing around in his head since the BladeShow (it don't happen that often! ;))

This is a variation of his standard fighter (see www.cavemanengineering.com if you want to see one the originals) This one has an extended tang (he did not taper the tang on this one). The ATS-34 blade is 7.5" and OAL is 13". I call it "EverReady" because the pommel makes it great for striking at either end! I particularly like the sheath. Thought you might enjoy this. I'm sure GenO would enjoy some comments on whether or not he should keep this variation. I vote "yes".

Superb! Very classic look, perfect guard...wouldn't change anything. Even the sheath fits the bill and is a perfect match. The knife and sheath have that "old school" very traditional look but also original looking. Very nice work!

Well Sid (Post), looks like we've got another one to order! Great looking fighter, and another Denning "must have".
No tapered tang, huh? That may be a first for GenO. Makes perfect sense, though, with that pommel. Kind of reminds me of his sub-hilt without the sub-hilt.

Yep, looks like Cavelady and I are going to be talking to each other today :D

If you haven't noticed, Paul knows a good knife when he sees it ;)

My thoughts are that that is a winner! That is VERY good looking and I'll bet it will perform like a champ! Paul

This was done for my little brother to go to Iraq when he got orders at the last minute. It was done in three days as a last ditch effort and I told him this is not your knife it is mine and you better bring it back so Thank God he and it came together, hope to have it back in a few days when I can catch up with him. For some funny reason he has been stuck to his new bride like glue, he tied the knot about three weeks before he got the word. Man was she hot, guess I will stay clear till they come up for air. Imagine That? I want to get it back and evaluate how it held up and how some of the the innovations did and then I will decide if I will add it to our line. Thanks for your comments and input I consider them as a great benefit in makeing up my mind. Thanks to all and feel free to e-mail us about it. GenO

That is a knock-out !

I've always found "fighters" very exciting. . .aggressive. . .but yet subtle.

If that makes any sense. :)

Looks very nice. The only thing I'd want to know is whether the tang was drilled to lighten it. I have seen - or more exactly felt - too many ground full tang fighters at Blade (Dawson comes to mind) that were extremely heavy.

I second the quality of GenO's work. I was so impressed at Blade that I immediately placed an order for a Chute knife, with a set of ironwood scales I picked right there.

I think it looks great. The design changes from the standard fighter look like they're all well thought out improvements, and I'm sure they'll translate into a more useful and accomodative knife.

I'm glad to hear your brother made it back safely, Geno.

Here's a picture of the one GenO did for me. I'm really pleased with it.
