The Swayback thread that Ash started last week finally pushed me over the edge and I had to order one for myself. I had been wanting to pick up a stainless slip joint for something different, but it hadn't occurred to me how much of a carbon junkie I've become over the last couple of years. At the last minute I gave in and ordered a CV version. It turned out the dealer was out of stock and they were on backorder. I could have gotten one from somewhere else, but I took it as a sign that I should go ahead and order a SS model like I had planned in the first place.

This is a very well made knife. The only minor flaw that I can find with it is that the pull on the pen blade is a little light. After handling it for only a short while I totally get why so many people like this pattern. It has such a wonderful feel in the hand and looks great as well.

Thanks for giving me that one last nudge, Ash. I hope you approve of the color.

Danny, it looks great. Glad to finally see that scale material in a real photo. Thanks for posting it. I'm sure you'll like it; I'm going to get another one soon. That one should be easy to see if you drop it. - Ed J

Yeah, I haven't seen hardly any pics of these scales before either. The lighting really seems to affect how the shade of orange looks. It was already dark when I got home and opened the package. I'm curious to see what they will look like in sunlight tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments everybody. I don't know why I didn't think about comparing the color to orange G10 last night. When placed side by side, these bone scales are just a shade darker than G10.

Love the color. Were they to make it in a gent version I'd be all over it.

I would have bought an Orange Blaze Gent, but I like the barehead look better. I'm glad that I got a jack after getting it. The pen blade has such a low profile that it is barely noticeable in use. The extra thickness is also nice for grip on a knife this small.

Very nice! Like the color and that shield is one of my all-time favorites. Good score.

I agree with you about the jack version over the gent even though the gent is a fine knife in its own right. I think I like the extra thickness on a small knive as it is a bit easier to get a good grip on it.

I hope we get to see other knives in the cayenne bone series.

Not a fan of neon bone, but Case's swayback jack is a very handsome pattern. I do love wharncliffes.

I also really like the shield.

If you set it down somewhere's you for sure will be able to find it.

Looks very well put together.

Congrats!

Nice photos! A few days ago I ordered a single blade sway back...a sway back "gent" (?). Can't wait to get it!
