I have very early Tyrade, since November 2007. I store it opened on a shelf with glass doors, exposed to day light. Now copper became black. This is OK. The only thing I'm worry about - strange blurry spots where the copper line is thin (red dot marks). On first look it is not corrosion. But what else? BTW - is the copper line better on a later Tyrade? On mine it is almost non-existent at several places.
I've wiped spots by rubber eraser and put an oil on blade.
I really like composite blade idea. I want to buy new Shallot CB. But I use CB knives occasionally, I have other knives for hard use. Will this "blurry spot" disease spoil the composite blade by time?

One more detail - each spot looks even on both steels. Dark half-spot on light side, light half-spot on dark side. It can be seen on picture, but not so well as by an eye.

work3, I would love to get your Tyrade back. Anyway I can have you send it back here to the factory (to my attention)? I'll gladly refund your shipping and forward you a new Tyrade.

so far I've had 5 to 10 tyrades, and have held many more. I've seen almost all toned dark to some degree, but I frankly think it's only an aesthetic issue. I can't imagine it would affect integrity of the seal. imho. Great offer on a new one though.

Agent Super Service strikes again!

Even to nasty evil Russia? :) Very expensive shipping...
Thank you for very kind offer. I see no permanent damage on the blade now, so I'll keep it. I just wanted to know if it will progress for worse. There were 3-4 spots on each side where the copper line is too thin.
