Anyone applied and took the recent CBP test? I just recieved a very VAGUE letter, it states my score and nothing of interest after that. I am curious if any of you are associated with the CBP and can instruct me as to the hiring process. How long does it generally take, do I just wait from here, does score dictate pay or position? I recieved a 108 with my 10 point veterans prefrence, is the test out of 100? Please help where you can.

This is a similiar situation as when I took the firefighter exam.

Score does not dictate pay. It only dictates your ranking within the current list of candidates for hiring. So with a score of 108, and if no one else has the same score, you would be number one on the list to get hired. It is all a waiting game from here on out. They would hire vets first before anyone else. You are now competing against other vets. But like I said, if your score is the highest of the vets you would get hired in the number one position.

Although it has been many years, I think the score you have been assigned will place you near or at the top of the hiring eligibles list. Then, you have the interview process, background, physical and ect. to go through. Best of luck to you.

has lots of info and they have a forum on there somewhere, in my opinion they tend to sugarcoat things a bit to much though, but since the test to get in has been dumbed down and they wont hardly fail anyone at the academy I guess it doesn’t really matter
