CBS Survivor: Boston Rob makes fire

If ya wanted to win a million $ and one of the most important tasks was startin' a fire, wouldn't you practice?

I like Rupert, did ya see him try to START a fire with a magnesium fire starter, ya think he woulda practiced.

Dont watch myownself.Seems that he had a plan and all the right steps to put a flame together.Nicely done too I might add
Good luck on watching the rest of the episodes

He used basically the fire saw method. He must have practiced cuz that one is tough!

Seemed like the other contestants were amazed that this could actually be done.
The fact that they had just lost the challenge, where the prize was a mag bar, was
pretty cool too. That in it self should save Bob from being voted off anytime soon.

Not sure what this says about me, but I love survivor and am really looking forward to this season. I haven't seen the first episode it doesn't come on here till sunday night, gotta love AFN. From what yall are saying and what my wife has told me sounds like it's gonna be a great season. Chris

Wasn't he the construction contractor who also built the super shelter on his first season? Got him that babe who won, didnt it?

Yep

Amanda and Stephanie are back on this season, both of those girls are amazing, not that I watch it for hot girls in skimpy clothes or anything. ;) Chris

Yea, I admitt, I watched it too.

It was pretty cool. They did it right with one person holding a large bundle of tinder under the wood to catch all the embers (tinder looked like dry shredded coconut husks).

I watch as well. I like that Randy said "NO ONE can start fire by rubbing sticks together!" You mean like people have for thousands of years, and some people still do? I thought it was awesome as well.

My wife said " I think he watched some Ray Mears videos"....nice:D

during an interview a while back, the host said he wondered why people didn't practice making fire before coming on the show.

No kidding. I learned the bow drill over a small period of time. I am no master of it - but I could make it go with all the goods they have.

That and cordage would go a LONG way.
