So, just got the new Meerkat, and as it happens, my first collectors club numbered Spyderco knife: 068V

Do they have any special value, are certain people looking for them, or should I just use it as I normally would?

I'd say use it as you normally would. A few folks feel it makes a knife more desirable, as it indicates an early specimen. A few feel more willing to purchase a numbered knife from a private party, as there's less chance of it being a fake. Many won't care, one way or the other, and some will not want a numbered knife. My feeling is, on a user, it can't hurt and may help the chances of recovery if the knife were ever stolen.

If you collect them for 5 years then sell the whole set (if you can find a buyer) they might be worth a little more.

As has been discussed in multiple other threads it depends on the buyer and what they want. I am part of the CC as I enjoy getting the new versions and sprints without a hassle, I did not join to add value to my knives in a resell situation.

Funny, I think I recently bought the 068V ZDP Stretch II. (maybe it is 064V? it's at home right now) Who holds 068V? Anyone here?

Some dealers hold one or more collectors numbers to insure having at least that many pieces of Sprint Runs and other "limited availability" knives.

On Bladeforums exchange I think a CC # Spyderco doesn't help it sell for a bit more.
However I do see on eBay they commonly will bring more money, I think it's just a few that bid there find them desirable. So, that brings the price up a bit. After all it only takes two bidders to drive a price higher.
It's not just Spyderco that sells a bit higher on eBay numbered. I bought a B/M Rukus here that was numbered. Nobody seemed interested in it. On eBay the numbered NIB just like it have brought 50 or so dollars over what I paid.

I had a SuperHawk on order with the same online dealer, didn't think it would come through, but they got new stock and I received it today. I got a numbered one of that too (185, production date DH). If they have a handful of CC numbers, they are definitely not consecutive.

If you don't think a CC# Spyderco will bring more on eBay a CC# D-2 Military just sold there today for 335! That's way higher than I've seen any bring non-numbered.

I'll swap you my numbered SuperHawk for one of your 5 SuperHawks and an original Manix ;)
