Well I am very happy to announce that my Randall Model 1 with a burgandy micarta comando handle and brass on both ends arrived yesterday after an 18 month wait. To make it even more of an event I am using my 100th post (which used to get you into a club) to announce my extreme pleasure. After sixteen months of debate I switched my original order of a six inch blade to a seven and I am happy that I did. This knife needs the length, 8 inches would have been ok and I almost went with a leather handle. I am so glad that I did not. This micarta handle is to cool for words alone

Chet it's nice to see somebody mention burgandy micarta as cool. I think on the right knife it's very cool. A few of us had a discussion about that at a knife show last weekend. On certain knives it'a almost classic. On something like a Lovess style boot knife or your Randall it's better than stag in my opinion for a cool look and feel. I plan on adding a couple classic Loveless style knives by Ricardo Velarde to my collection this year and burgandy micarta is my choice for that classic cool look that I want.
