Hi everyone.
I would like to talk a wee bit about knives, show you some New Zealand scenery, and then share our great day with everyone here.
I have mentioned here before about Sue and I getting married, and we have had the pleasure of her family coming over from England to share the days with us, so we have just finished 3 weeks of travelling around some of our great country we have here.
I would like to start off with that Sues step-dad ( Paul ) loved checking out my knives, I ended up gifting him one of my John Lloyd's he took a shining to, the knife is pictured below.....
I used this knife to sharpen my pencils with my drawing..looks as though another Traditional will have to take its place on the table
Well, Paul loves his knife very much, I asked a question in the knife laws forum to put his mind at rest with the bringing back home his knife into the U.K, its been great to see him with his knife!
Anyway, before our wedding, could I have the pleasure of showing you a few shots of our Country we saw, before I talk about my next knife that I carried while on Vacation...
A couple of shots of a area just north of Auckland where a very good mate of mine manages a farm there, we stayed a night there, the English folk loved it..
Here is another stunning area called the Coromandel, true natural wild beauty of New Zealand-very much like the beautiful pics that our good mate Fes sends us....
This area is just South of Coromandel-called Cathedral Cove...this has been used in the filming of Narnia ...just stunning
you walk through this huge arch way, this is the sight awaiting you..
A sight that was totally surrounding our holiday home we hired for a few days-surrounded by beautiful native bush, native birds feeding right in front of us, a stream right outside....tranquility at it's best
I carried this large Stockman that I bought lately, this sharpend up to be an extremely sharp knife....it was my first long time carry with this knife, and I enjoyed it greatly....
We came back to have our wedding in back of our house...it was a awesome relaxed day where everyone stated just how beautiful the whole day was, Please excuse my work Marquee, it was a choice of this or spend 2K on a pure white one-the choice was easy lol.
What made it very special was of course my absolutely lovely lady sue, our children,my girls to my left, sues lovely girl and young man to her right-what a beautiful bunch of young people they are.
My knife that was chosen for the day..... now this knife has connections!!! lol - Charlie was there in spirit as the '64 Case Barlow Red Bone was my very special carry on the our special day..here we are ...
Here we are about to cut the cake, using my Sheffiled Carving knife, its a good Antique.... I use this knife every day-a pure pleasure, Im glad I could incorporate it into our day...The guy on the right is my best mate, one hang of a great guy, hes more than a friend, hes my Brother Im proud to say...if you may remember back he was the recipient of John Loyd's Amber Stag Gunstock with the fish shield.....
Heres my lovely Lady, holding the stunning Case Red Bone Barlow, thank you for being there Charlie my friend...
.
Ok...I hope I havent bored you guys & gals, but I feel many of you are my friends, and just wanted to share the day, my Country, my family with you - my Forum friends.
Thank you everyone, and have a great day
