I had been dragging my feet on replacing my cell phone for a while. I couldn't decide if I should upgrade to a PDA type phone or not. I heard that I'll be getting issued a blackberry at work - so I opted for a non-PDA. I still dragged my feet and couldn't decide what to get. I ended up losing my old phone and had to make a descion. I opted for the chocolate. I've been very disappointed and wish I had my old phone back. I've found I have 0 use for the mp3 player - which I guess is the main point of the chocolate. I don't like the controls and worst of all I'm having people complain they can't hear me. Looks like the choclates are pulling in good $$ on ebay - so I'm confident I could sell mine and pick up a flip phone with money left over. So I'm looking for a small flip phone with a camera, blue tooth enabled, my carrier is Verizon... any suggestions?

Take it back to Verizon and tell them you aren't happy.

If it has been less than 30 days, you should get full credit towards another phone.

I had a Chocolate (for one day shy of the 30 day return policy). I hated it. I liked some of the features, but there were so many things that annoyed me. Press any of the side keys twice, and you unlocked the keys. The touch sensitive keys gave you no feedback that you hit them properly, and there was a delay, so either you did nothing, you did it correctly, or you did it correctly but because of the delay didn't know you did it correctly, so you hit it twice.

Every single thing that bigged me about the Chocolate was fixed on the new version. There's a slider switch on the side to unlock the buttons. The phone vibrates a bit when you hit the touch sensitive keys. And the 4 way control touch sensitive part was replaced by an actual button. I am very, very happy with the new Chocolate.

But yeah, as CODE3 said, you should be able to swap it if it's within 30 days (but be warned, you can only do this once).

I had a KRZR for a spell, it was an alright phone. But I couldn't hear it ring inside my pocket, so I returned it. In retrospect, it was more the ringtone I chose that I couldn't hear rather than having a quiet speaker. I like my new Chocolate, but I wouldn't feel disappointed if I had to go back to the KRZR. There's a new Motorola that's the same size of the KRZR, but without a fancy camera (still has one, but not as high quality) and music player ability, and of course, it's cheaper. I really liked the size of the KRZR. It's a bit longer than most flip phones, but it's very thin and narrow, so it fit well in my pocket with pens, pocket knife (clipped) and SAK.

I have to mention though that with the KRZR, I had issues getting it to connect properly to my Bluetooth. Nearly every time I wanted to connect my bluetooth up, it would take me 2-4 attempts to finally link up. Odd, considering they were both Motorola. Never had these problems with my LGs.

Before the KRZR I had an LG VX8300, which is probably one of Verizon's best selling phones after the RAZR. Great phone, and the location of the speakers mean it won't be as muffled in the pocket (against your pants or your leg). My only beef with that phone was that it was thick and wide. I personally don't like RAZR sized phones, because they take up too much pocket space (width). The VX8300 is nearly as wide as the RAZR, and nearly twice as thick.

I personally think the Samsung phones all feel cheaply made. That's just the way they feel in my hand though, i have no longterm experience with them.

Most phones these days are coming with .mp3 capabilities with expandable memory. If you want a decent camera on your phone, you'll probably get an .mp3 player on it too. The Chocolate does go a bit further (more internal memory than most any other phone) than other .mp3 phones, with more feature-laden player software. But even if you're not all that interested in the music player, the new Chocolate is a great phone (far better than the old one).

I'm personally sticking with LG phones from now on.
