I won’t drag this on, I was just thinking about the pockets my SAK are carried in. It donned on my that the only ones that are carried in my back right pocket are nylon and alox. Will cellidor hold up to the weight or will they loosen up sooner than usual?
Just my mind wandering lol, but if you have anything to contribute, please do.

Thank you much,
Lee

I've never carried a SAK in my back pocket. Sounds really uncomfortable!

As to whether cellidor will hold up to the weight, it depends. The older, solid cellidor scales will probably hold up better than the modern hollow scales, because with the solid scales, there's no void for them to be compressed down into. Hollow scales might eventually crack under the weight, but I don't think they'll come loose before that happens.

Remember that the weight will be forcing the scales down onto the rivet heads, which will take the majority of the weight anyway. Sitting on your SAK might actually make the scales tighter, but they might still crack eventually.

When I put new scales on a SAK, I use a vise to force them onto the rivet heads. As long as the weight is evenly distributed, sitting on a SAK will probably have the same effect (again, unless/until the scales crack).

I personally wouldn't carry a SAK in my back pocket.

Hope this helps!

When I carry one of mine in a back pocket, I use a knockoff dangler clip and make sure that the knife is toward the outside edge of the pocket. I find I don't put much weight at all on the knife, though that may vary depending on how much rear end you're working with.

I'd bet it depends how thick SAK you want to carry. SwissChamp propably will endure but it will certainly be... PITA! :D
The cellidor will probably be too flexible for back pocket. The aluminum liners won't offer much protection and the knife bends it and could slowly pop out the scales.. or not who knows.

Was it the backside scale near the top end?
Back scale, yes. If you mean the top being the large blade pivot end, yes.

I've got a Swisschamp with a chip out of the same end, on the front scale. The knife came like that. It appeared to have had a hell of a life, but after some panelbeating and a thorough clean it was still fully functional.
