Celtic Dagger WIP

Just showing off something I started monday, maybe get some opinions. Its just 1095 for the blade and has a near mirror polish and a handle of unfinished African mahogany and nickle silver bolster/guard? I still have to put finish on the wood but I intend to do some pyrography and burn in some celtic knots and maybe some runes as well as a wooden sheath with the same treatment. The inspiration came from an another similar one I saw on pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/528750812481029385/ I'm already liking it so much I dont really want to give it up but if I did would anyone have a guess of what its sale value could be? I'm still having a hard time figuring out what things go for.

I think it looks pretty cool, after the knots/runes/ finishing on the handle it should really look well finished. A matching wooden sheath would look great! My one criticism is that the handle/ blade ratio looks off to me...

Hmm, I can see what you mean. At the moment the handle is actually a half inch longer than the blade. 4.5" blade and 5" handle. Probably could have been a bit better if the blade was an inch longer or so.

Finished the shaping and fitting of the sheath, now just to do some burning on it and give it some finish. Its probably my favorite knife I've done so far.

Finish is being applied now but here's pics of everything just after all the Celtic knots and runes were burnt into the wood. I'm surprised how well I did having never done anything like this before. The runes on the handle spell "honor" in Norse and the ones on the sheath say "wisdom". Took a while to figure out how to do the runes as authentic as possible.
