I just discovered a rip in my nylon pack(coated nylon, could be cordura). It isan't practical to try to have it stitched, so I want to try to glue a patch on - maybe one inside and one on the outside. Anyway, can anyone suggest a cement that will hold well on this type of cloth? Thanks!

Get some ripstop nylon tape at EMS or one of those stores. If you put a strip of tape on both sides it's very strong -- you'll get rips other places before it rips again in that place.

Come to think of it, the last time I bought some it wasn't ripstop nylon; it was nylon taffeta. It's at least as strong as the ripstop was.

Try some McNett Seam Grip. Great for all kinds of repairs and readily available at just about every outdoors gear retailer.

I'd second the McNett suggestion. Seam-grip is designed to stick really well to nylon and other synthetic fabrics (NOT Si). you probably should use a patch of similar material so that there is some surface for the glue to adhere to.
