I found an unorthodox, but effective solution to the off-center blade on my beloved Kershaw Lahar. It was almost touching the liner on one side, but still flipped open. I sent it to Kershaw, but it came back not much better. After adjusting and readjusting everything possible, I finally gave up. Last week I had a change of heart. I took it apart, removed the nylon washer on the side where the blade was almost touching, and replaced it with a slightly thicker metal washer that I modified by hand (expanded the opening with a round metal file, and smoothed the washer using my Sharpmaker white rods). I was hoping the thicker metal washer would push out against the blade just enough to shift it to the middle. After adding some graphite powder around the washers, I reassembled the knife and feared the worst. However, it worked beautifully--the blade is almost perfectly centered, there is no blade play, and the knife opens smoothly with the flipper and a bit of wrist action. While it does not fly open like it did before my fix, I would much rather have the centered blade. This may not work for your ZT, but I offer it on the off-chance that it might.
