Just received this one today. 1610BB, Black/Black version, born JUN 05.

I say this every time I get a new knife, but damn, this is the sharpest factory edge so far. Hair-popping, no no, it's more hair-whittling-ly sharp. I was able to make a fuzz stick from a single hair.

I really like the position of the lock (to keep it closed), right there near the 'flipper' next to the clip, easy to access with the index finger. And the way that when you clip it onto your jeans it forces the lock closed. Classy.

The linerlock is a little harsh on my thumb, but I guess that's to be expected opening/closing it again and again the first day I get it. Day to day this shouldn't be an issue.

The clip is very tight, I may need to bend it back a little so im not trying to pull my pocket off my pants every time i clip it on.

Now for my question. The blade is so far off-centre it is lightly scraping the liner. This is leaving a slight rub-mark on the black coating, and you can hear the sound of metal on metal... I shall endevour to find related threads to fix it, but can anyone suggest the easiest way to get it back to centre?
Return to factory for repair is also not an option (Aust. Customs to the rescue...)

Other than this, it's exactly what i was after. I will add more in a week or two, as it's going to be taking its place in my pocket, shelving my delica4 for a while. The spyderco feels like a much bigger knife now.. At least i have a good opportunity to sharpen that blade up a bit more, I usually rush it to get it back into my pocket. No hurry now.

Thanks for reading

pics please!!!!!

i have the mother of pearl inlayed centofante (with the slick little holster) and i totally agree with you on the roughness of the liner lock. closing it can be a pain, it also doesn't wanna open when the knife is cold. but that being said it is a beautiful gentlemen's knife and i really like it.

that knife is amazing. i also have the one with pearl inlays and a sheath. one of my favorite onions.
