Centofante Memory - Isn't it a Pretty Knife

I really love the Centofante Memory and plan on getting one as soon as it's available. I love the clean lines and as it is, it is simpley very gorgous. Kudos to the designers!!!

I just can't help myself when I see a knife in a prototype stage to wonder what I would do to it if I were designing it.

My areas for improvement would be number 1, that the pretty filed spine be more noticeable by having it silver in color polished or not polished (if cost is a consideration). This way it would contrast with the blue titainium and be more noticeable after all you went through the trouble of filing it.

Other comment, is there a way to attach the very pretty silver carbon fiber to the titainium more seemlessly to make the lines cleaner less cluttered. It appears lint may gather between the CF and titainium.

If it cost more, just charge more, after all it is a memory knife. Errr, okay less than $200.

Oh one more thing, comments others have said about the clip. The clip is fine. Satin silver is perfect, it matches the blade, and has clean lines.

What do you think?

I really like all the Spyderco/Centofante designs, I have the 3 and the 4. This is another great looking knife. I would imagine the quality on this piece will be pretty high, like the Native4, and the G10 Stretch, Delica, and Endura. The silver CF is a nice touch as well.

So no comments on the color of the spine or how the scales fit? Or any other improvements in your opinion.

Curious.

I still think it's gourgous and am getting one as soon as they are out. Although I'm not sure how I'll know they are for sale (other than just keep checking), does anyone know about when it will be ready?

One one of the other amsterdam knives I believe I heard This Summer?

Has anyone noticed that on one side of the scale, there seems to be smudged anodizing, like there were greasy fingerprints on it before anodizing? Is this a mistake?

You might want to try it before you buy it. Like the other centofantes it has a small opening hole deep into the scales. I liked the earlier collaborations but never bought one because the opening hole did not fit my hands. I wear an extra large glove.

Tip down carry as well, just like how I carried my old cento 3. That is a lovely knife, just a bit flashy for a user, but a looker none the less.

That's usually how anodizing in lighter colors works (in my experience especially blue). If you clean that side with alcohol to remove the oils the fingerprints are gone. Might be a deal-breaker for some.

This photo was taken during the Amsterdam Show in 2011, so it was going through a lot of people's hands before the photograph. What you see is just like senoBDEC says, it's smudged prints from someone handling the knife before the photo. It would wipe clean and is not a flaw in the anodizing itself.

Of note too is that the knives shown at these preview shows are usually handmade versions rather than production prototype or production pilot models.

I really like the knife and what it represents. If I had one thing I could change it would be to use a wharnclif or modified wharnie blade.

I read another persons post stating.....judging from the size of the clip the blade looks to be about 3 inches.

I was thinking one good thing about the cf silver scale not being flush with the titainium is that when it rests on the scales the titainium would not get scratched. It's my assumption that the blue titainium might scratch easily, but I don't know.

Does anyone have a titainium handled knife and would like to comment on what it would take to scratch the titainium?

I know on my Kopa the SS bouldser scratches fairly easy, one has to be sure not to put coins in the same pocket. Though the one little scratch I did get, a little chrome polish fixes it mostly.
