Recently acquired two Centofante/Onion knives - the first one from a large reputable web-dealer about two weeks ago - received it and it was marked
1 of 1000. I thought great - I'll put this one away to save and get a second one as a user. I ordered the second Onion/Centofante from an eBay sale a few days ago - and again I received the obviously very rare 1 0f 1000???? How is this possible - there should be only (1) 1 of 1000 right? Both blades are marked July 06. I'm assuming at this point they're all labeled 1 of 1000 - and also assume this not really a limited edition. Any thoughts on how this can be?

Well, yeah, they probably are all marked 1 of 1000. Technically it's true, they are all one piece out of 1000 total. This doesn't mean it's not a limited edition although i cannot speak to that but some makers choose to mark limited runs with all of them being 1 of however many instead of numbering them as they come off the line.

og, yes this was a limited edition as there were only 1000 pieces produced. They were all marked 1 of 1000, and not sequentially numbered.

Nice pick ups.

Whats up with this thread? I get a weird login when I opened it?! I triple checked, and it;s only this thread?

Tried re-doing the link to the picture - that was strange requiring login - think its fixed.....sorry....

Ok, thats better! I had a leek like that, it had a rainbow blade, with black handle, and Ken Onion's signature on it. They also all said 1-1000.
