The new Centofante seems to be similar in size and ergonomics to the discontinued and impossible to find plain edge Wegner Jr.

Do any of you have both? Can you compare them?

I only have the Centofante III, and have never handled a Wegner. From what I understand though, the Wegner is a beefy, outdoorsy knife. The Centofante is extremely solid, but very thin, particularly the blade. It's thinner than my Calypso Jr.
Ergonomics are good, but not exceptional. The blade shape is terrific though, for every-day slicing chores.

Yes, the Wegner is built very tough. And it's drop point and belly make it a superb cutter. Not sexy, but incredibly efficient. I've got one for sale on the Exchange Forum if anyone's interested.

I have to disagree, the flat-ground G-10 Police and the Military are the best slicers bar none.

The full flat ground Calypso Jr is reasonably thin and a forum favorite for those who do not need the 4inch Millie (Ask Vampyre Wolf)

I've got a full size Wegner and really like it but was looking for a smaller version for carry where the law limits length to 3 inches. I think I'll keep looking for a Wegner Jr.

The original Centofante designs had a hole/pivot relationship that guaranteed that your thumb would get "nicked" during opening - the forward edge of the scale intersected the scale. Yuk!

The Wegner on the other hand, was very comfortable, so other than the obvious blade shape issues, there is no comparison.

Rycen,

How do you like your original Centofante? I have the same model you do except in SE. The small opening hole takes a little while to get used to, but otherwise it's a decent knife.

EZ,
I like the Cento very smooth fits my hand well and I dont seem to be bothered by the hole.Though it is for my collection and not for EDC.

GB,
That is the Wegner Jr.
